I have a single duckling from my hatch this weekend. I’m holding out with my fingers crossed that another will hatch but so far no activity from the other three eggs. (There was movement but no internal pips as of last night.)

so in the meantime I have one single duckling. I’ve posted in my local poultry group on facebook but no one has said if they have ducklings yet.

Any suggestions on what I can do to keep this one from getting too lonely until I find a friend or another hatches? He already peeps nonstop!!

Did you hatch with incubation or did you hatch with a mom duck?

Ok, well for now you can spend a lot of time with it. Don’t pick it up a lot or touch it much just sit by it for now and try to keep it company. In the future if none hatch you should get another duckling
They are trying to get other ducklings, but no one has any extras. Why shouldn't you pick it up?

yes, I am currently looking for another duckling. My original post says I posted in my local poultry group on facebook, because i’m looking to purchase at least one other duckling for a friend for this one.
I have no intention of raising a single duckling. 😊
