Site for a New Aviary

Haha yeah so far we haven't started construction yet because we have been busy.

Oh, to have the money to be able to build something like that gbwf aviary!
I am ashamed to show what I have built so far!

Yeah some people were saying it is as good or better than zoo quality. I could only dream of something like that!

I am dreaming about it as well. My dream right now is to get some of the kiddie pools on sale at Walmart for next year. :gig :lau

I used to bring a Walmart kiddie pool to the beach, fill it with water and sand, and catch little fish and put them in there and watch them. At the end of the day I would let them go. It was really fun!

Anyways, I am also thinking about selling some of my birds...I was looking around thinking about the birds that I never really had much of an attachment to or ones that I don't have a place for in breeding.

It has been rainy around here. It might rain later tomorrow but I am going to try and get started on a small pen tomorrow. It won't take much to make it because of the strange shape of the pen...I will show you in a graphic I just made what I mean...

Okay the blue areas is the existing pen I have 12 peafowl in. The yellow are some of the pens I will make in the future. The small one is the one I am thinking about making tomorrow. The small original pen is too small to have closed off and use as a seperate pen. The peafowl love it for some reason and it is covered with tarps and they love staying there in the rain instead of using their nice big covered tin area that I have shown...I would love to get rid of the small pen but the peas love it so I don't know if I should take it away... The larger yellow pen idea I am trying to decide on how big it needs to be. I like letting my peahens hatch and raise their own peachicks, but now I am starting to see a big dis-advantage to that....You need more pen space, and when they can have around 6 peachicks a clutch that means lots of extra space. So if I had a peacock and one peahen in a pen and I want to let my peahen raise her peachicks, and at max she could have 6 peachicks and I would sell the peachicks once they were yearlings or older, what is the minimum the pen could be for size? So I guess what I am asking is what size does it need to be to contain 8 peafowl comfortably? Oh and the smaller pen I will use for free-range birds or young peafowl or something like that.
