Sitting....

I was wondering....my girls sit in my yard...all over the yard, which is great. My chickens are 3 and 4 months old. If one is a rooster, which I have no clue if I have any, would they "sit" too?

Where they are resting on their bottoms with their feet tucked under them....

Yes, all chickens will sit as you described. They scratch and peck, eat, drink, chase butterflies or whatever and rest and repeat. They don't usually "sit" for long periods of time but you will see them sitting more in the summer heat. Mine dig holes so they have cooler dirt to sit in. It is perfectly normal for both hens and roosters.

Ok, ty. I am just new to chickens and didn't know. None of my chickens are crowing, and I can't tell if they are boys yet. I have 3 that 4 months old and still no crowing...so who knows. LOL!
