Hi! This is my six week old EE crossbeak named Chipmunk. She’s been water her mash on her own for about a week and she seems to finally be gaining but it’s still quit slow. The rest of the chicks are twice her size. Tonight at dinner time, I noticed her crop has a bald patch. The skin doesn’t look red or irritated at all so I’m wondering if maybe she’s just slow to feather as well. The crusty mess in the photo is her dinner, she’s a very messy eater 😂

Should I be worried about the bald spot? I haven’t found a reliable avian vet in my area, should I be giving her any supplements to support her growth along with her mash?

My crossbeak had a bald crop too. I washed it and it turned out it was only stuck together by mash. Although your chick doesn't look like its crop is messy. I hope everything turns out good for your chick. :)

I found that the other chicks kept cleaning up my crossbeaks sticky feathers and plucked the feathers by doing it. If your chick feels like a skeleton covered in fluff try tube feeding him. That worked with my chick.
