Hello all, I have a 6-week-old Cochin rooster who is having clear diarrhea. It looks like water shooting out. Sitting with him for 30 minutes this evening, it happened about 3 times. He was vaccinated for coccidiosis and Marek's. He's eating an organic chick food - Grubbly. What could be the cause and what should I do for him? Thanks so much for your time and advice.

Did you check to make sure his vent isn't clogged? It can happen to older birds not just chicks.

If he's eating enough some solids should be coming out.

Is he having any other symptoms?

Thank you very much for the reply. I checked the vent this morning and it's clear. I sat with him for more than an hour and he refused to poop! Nothing came out at all. He's eating, drinking and running around quite energetically. There are no other symptoms. I will take another stab at watching him for a period of time later today and let you know if I see anything. Thanks again.

To end this thread, the diarrhea cleared up on its own. I discovered no reason and am just grateful it ended this way. Thanks again.
