i was wondering what a good size is for bantams, i mean as small as i could get a coop

Our three dutch bantams live quite comfortably in a large barn style plastic doghouse. My 11 year old son and I used the plans from Mother Earth News to turn it into a coop. These aren't the best pictures in the world but might give you an idea on the size. The nest area is in the back of the box.

you can use a large doghouse.. I love Baym...'s looks like a carrier in a cage.. I used a rabbit hutch ( slightly modified ) for 3 bantam's and 2 standards.

i would say large doghouse or bigger, i house several smaller groups of bantams (2-8 birds each) in large doghouses that range from 4X2X2 - 4X3.5X5, they have plenty of run space as well (10X10) and are happy as clams

also have one 8X4 coop split in half for 2 kinds, 3 on one side and 5 on the other) with plenty of room to spare!
