Hi,

Using the advice from a lot of people on this forum and building my own coop using pallets. 7ft by 4 ft. With a run of 18ft by 7ft. How many chickens will this support?
400

Personally, I'd house no more than 6 standards birds in such a set up.

Was looking at the Rhode Red.

Surely you get you get more in their?

If you live in a climate that will never cause your flock to retreat into the coop, then maybe.

If you include your location under your avatar, then it would be helpful in responding, not only to this question, but to others that you may have in the future. Just go to "edit community profile" and you'll see a box for your location.

The minimum recommended coop space is 4sqft per bird.

Done.

My run will be covered fully. Here in the UK it's mainly wind and rain we have to deal with. We don't get snow as you guys in the states. Coop primary usage just for night
