size of eggs.

I have 5 red sex-link pullets and 6 white rock which are 19 weeks old. They started laying this week and most eggs are small to medium size. On two days this week I got one egg which is Jumbo size, almost 3 ozs. Is this normal?

Did you open the egg? I would bet it is a double yolker. As far as size I believe they get bigger with time.

yes first time layers sometimes lay abnormally large eggs...but it is nothing to worry about they will get everything the right size in a few months..and that big egg you got is probably a double maybe even triple yolker!!!!
