size roosting rod for 3 grown hens & one banty hen

Please help: I had one banty hen & then got 3 full size hens. Their current roosting rod for all 4 is round at about 1.5" on one end & a little larger on the other end.

To keep everyone content & secure what size board should be used for all 4. They all sleep together.

Any help that is provided is greatly appreciated.
I have gotten a lot of great information from this forum.

Normally a roost is a 2X4 but in CR you don't have to worry about frostbitten toes.
You're probably OK as long as they seem secure roosting on the pole.

By the way, I love CR.
