My family wants to raise chickens in our city lot but are worried about space. We only want to raise 2-4 birds, but are unsure about the space we need for the coop and run. Any suggestions for a good coop design for limited space?

For 4 chickens, permanent confinent = 40 sqft. With run = 16 sqft (not including nest box)

Well, the rule is 4 sq ft in the actual coop ( not including nest boxes/roosts) and 10 sq ft in the run. Personally, I do 3sq ft in the coop, and much more in the run. But this is because I live in mild climate, and my chickens are almost never in the coop. Hope you enjoy your chickens!
