Picked up, 4 hens last Sunday, they are about 4 months old. How can I get them to not be afraid of me? edit: nevermind found my answer.....time will tell

What breeds are they? Some are naturally more skiddish than others.

If it's any help, lots of treats and time spent with them helps.

For some of mine, I discovered what they wanted and stood between them and it so they'd have to come to me if they really wanted it. On them, they were a bunch of coop dwellers, so I'd kick them out of the coop and sat in the doorway. Eventually, it worked double because they got used to me, and the outdoors.

Specled Sussex, Brown Leghorn, Vorwerk and Wheaten Maran...The Sussex is starting to eat of my hand. The Maran is the most skiddish

Grab a chair, a book or your phone, sit in the run and completely ignore them. Eventually they'll realize you're boring and you're no threat. You can also have some treats scattered by your feet if you want but important part is sitting with them
This really works, at the end of the session, drop down some scratch where you sat. Repeat, maybe tossing the scratch a little away from you, the next day a little closer.

Do not chase or catch and force into your arms. Yes they will relax, they are prey and think they are dead. No it won't make them calmer around you.
