IMG_4189.jpg IMG_4188.jpg IMG_4190.jpg IMG_4187.jpg I have a great group of little calls. I noticed recently one was losing feathers around the neck, but tonight I saw it was looking serious and he has a yucky eye.

The skin feels almost like beef jerky. It's shiny because I coated him in ointment.

He has not been into anything. I suppose it's possible his duckmates could have pulled out his feathers.

He's thin, goopy eye, missing a lot of feathers.

I'm not familiar with duck diseases as we've never had a problem.

How many Drakes are in one pen. ?????

Poor little one. Looks like someone has been having a go at him. Your saying him so this is a drake? You can use Terramycin on the goopy eyes, but I'd separate the little one for now. Keep him where he can see everyone or inside if he is sick other wise but this really looks like what we see when drakes have over mated female ducks, no skin disease. @lynnielynd

I've given him a very thorough exam. It's not from the other ducks. He has some sort of I think fungal skin disease. It has traveled up under his feathers to his eye.

This is definitely going to require a vet visit for him! Thank you all!

Poor Baby! Probably a pecking order somehow put him at the bottom. He could have also gotten a scratch you didn't see which lured the other ducks to peck at him. It could be lice or mites. I have had a similar problem with chickens. it is best to keep him separated. Hope it goes well. Good luck Little buddy!:love:fl
