my favorite chicken has been a little lethargic lately and has been picking at her butt feathers. she also keeps finding hiding places in the yard so i thought she was making a nest...wellllllll after examining her this morning i now know i was very wrong. i think this is a fungus? it donst smell or have any kind of puss or blood. the skin looks like it pulled open revealing the black tissue underneath. i can lift the skin away from it and it goes about an inch back on each side and isn't secure so if you keep pulling it keeps lifting from the black skin. Has anyone seen this before? I was thinking tea tree oil, coconut oil, and that silver anti fungal stuff. she also has yellow crusty skin across where her feathers are missing and a little patch on the other side. she's eating and pooping pretty normaly. her poos are a little runny as there all over her fluffy butt feathers ]=

So I got some fungicide and some cedar wood oil and Rose dr bronners to make a bath for her when I get home. Gonna feed her yogurt and garlic and apples. Anything else?

So good news is it's not infected and it's not a fungus, I think she might be my roosters favorite and maybe he cut her open. I cleaned it out and there was just a lot of dirty dried skin that I removed so that it can heal properly without risk of infection

She's def spoiled rotten lol in the house in the heat eating scrambled eggs with me

Yep lol we were watching games of thrones last night while she dried off infront of the heater after her bubble bath....lol
