(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to raising chickens all by myself. My mom always had a chicken yard that she raised for eggs and meat. I got my first flock of chicks this March from Townline.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I ordered 25 but I received 26 and all are well.
(3) What breeds do you have?
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I googled chickens and I found this site to answer a lot of my questions. I like the fact that ordinary people like me can give life experience answers.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love reading, now taking care of my girls and baking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband is a fourth generation farmer, a daughter who is a chemical engineer, and one son who is an agronomist. The closest thing to a pet other than my girls is my daughter's dog that stays with me occasionally. I am retired and I am looking forward to raising my chickens.
