So I just went out to shut up my birds and found the cockerel lying flat on the floor (no perch in there) but with his head stretched out looking like he was dead. Eyes shut, not moving, I had a small heart attack until I poked him and he woke up, looking a little put out at being disturbed.
Is this a normal thing for adult chickens? I thought most tucked their heads in, although I know chicks do like to lay flat out when they sleep. Should I be concerned or can I laugh about how daft my boy is?
