Sleeping while standing

Is it normal chicken behavior for them to close their eyes and sleep while standing. This girl has of late been acting like this. She eats good, still active, poop still normal.

Is it normal chicken behavior for them to close their eyes and sleep while standing. This girl has of late been acting like this. She eats good, still active, poop still normal.

Well, sometimes they can lounge around during hot weather or after they have eaten.
The only time I've seen one standing with eyes closed (sleeping?) when I've been around, and the others are active like in the background of your photos is when a bird is not well.

I'd check her over for lice/mites, get a good look at that poop. If possible, take a sample of poop to your vet for a fecal float to rule out worms and coccidiosis. See that her crop is emptying overnight.

Yes my chickens sleep/nap (at times) standing on 1 leg. If thats the only thing that you're concerned about then its nothing to worry about.
