I use a standard white bucket with nipples on the bottom. I always keep the lid on, and occasionally add ACV to the water. I change the water every three days, but I'm getting a black slime on the inside of the bucket, both above and below the water. So far I've been washing with soap at every water change and rinsing well. Is there anything I can do to prevent the slime/algae/mold or whatever it is from forming?
Thanks in advance.

I always have to add a glug of bleach to my waterers to keep them clear.

The only time I have had black spots in my water is the few times I added ACV to it. Could never figure out why, but I quit using it.
