Slow feather growth on 3 week old chick

I've noticed that too about some of my male chicks. I just haven't had one feather in as slow as this. I'm glad these are warm weather chicks and now a winter clutch.

I am about 90% sure Autumn is a cockerel.

I think pullet. Got a few large/Redish combed 7 week pullets.

You could be right, (and I hope you are). His sister was sort of “comby” around his age, too. Here is a picture of the sister, Giblet, at around 3-4 weeks. She lays lovely eggs now.

Unfortunately Autumn’s built like a cockerel, has fairly thick legs, assertive behavior. So I’m still leaning cockerel for now.

Looks, & behavior can be deceiving. Females can be pretty assertive too.

My beefy ladies. All are masculine pullets, unless one surprises me later on.
