Hey everyone I have one small chick that’s not growing as fast as the others her age. The roosters seem to pick on her quite often and so I’m thinking of putting her back in the starter brooder and feed her and care for her separately. Anyone know what I can give her aside from chick start and baby cakes to get her to maybe catch up a little without all the stress of the others around. She is the little yellow and tan Wheaton in the pics. She is also in my profile pic

Sometimes runts happen in chickens.
I had 25 freedom rangers and one cockerel ended up half the size of his siblings.
Does the chick seem lethargic?
There really isn't anything other than chick starter that will boost growth other than perhaps some animal protein. Meat, fish, mealworms, crickets, etc..
Putting her back in with the younger birds may be a good plan. I do that from time to time.

I had a lavender orpington the same way. At a little over a month old i kid you not she looked like she was only a couple days old. By 3 months she looked a maybe a month old. She hit a growth spert at about 4 months old but was only have the size of the others. Sadly I lost her to crop issues a few weeks ago. I fed high protein food, gave high protein snacks and nothing helped. She was just a runt

She is in with the young ones now. That’s who is picking on her. She is definitely not lethargic. She is the busiest and noisiest of them all. Always eating and scratching. Just feel bad that she’s getting picked on. Not sure if separating her and then having her rejoin later will cause more issues for her.

I’m so sorry to hear that . Did you separate her or leave her with the other little ones? Did they pick on her?

No she ran with her big brothers and sisters and her best friend a disabled guinea. I had no other babies at the time but she did great. Never got bullied, I think she might have done a little bullying though! lol She always stuck to the guinea side i guess since he was smaller then the other lavender orps. Sadly when he passed away due to what i believe was a snake bite or spider bite she took up with her lavender orp roo that was 5 times larger then she but he took good care of her.

Is it a possibility that she could be a bantam?:idunno
I got her from a breeder and she is supposed to be a Blue Wheaton Americana it she didn’t have the slate legs like her sister. I haven’t had them before just barred rocks so I’m not sure.
