Slow growing chick

I have a 3 week and 3 days old chick who is very small. It was the only one to survive out of 5 eggs under hen. It has no feathers except for wings. It eats and acts like a normal chick. I had gotten eggs from a neighbor, she said dad was a barred rock and mom was a black sex link. Any thoughts on this little one?

Probably a rooster. In many breeds the roosters feather out much slower than the pullets.

That that would be ok with me. It does have long legs

I've had some at 6 weeks still naked except for the wing feathers, so it should be okay.

Just an update on this guy. At 7 weeks he finally started growing and getting more feathers than just his wings. He’s now 11 weeks and doing great. Still small, but I believe he will get to where he’s supposed to be. I had little faith in this guy, he really surprised me. He’s the only man in the flock with 32 ladies. Fingers crossed he’s a good one.

I have 3 BR + 3 SS roosters and most of them developed slower but now everybody looks about the same size.... except my smallest BR chick (he was half the size of everybody else) who now is the big daddy of the flock. Roos do tend to feather/grow slower.

Growing quite fast now. This is from yesterday. He has also moved to the top roost with the ladies.
