Hey, everyone! :) I have a blue ameracauna that is 6 months old and weighs a little over 3 pounds. She is not a bantam. She acts okay and lays well. Should I be concerned about her weight? I sent off for a worm test kit just in case.

If she lays well, she's probably fine.
I have seven 28 weeks old Barred Rocks and they very in size. I do have a runt, about half the size of the biggest and she lays 5/6 small eggs a week. Most of the others lay medium.
She holds her own, but needs a lift up to the roosts at night. 20181230_092755.jpg . GC

If she is laying well and not having any other problems I wouldn't worry about her. Good idea to check for worms, just in case. :)

Hey! One question, is your runt a hatchery baby? If so don't worry, hatchery runts are pretty common they're fine just tiny.
My last batch of hatchery girls are very small, about half normal size and they're all different breeds lol!
I know it isn't a food issue it is genetics, my other home hatched ladies are huge.:)

Yep! Lol! She came from a hatchery. I’m thinking she’s just small. I’ll still check for worms. Thanks, guys.

The same SS next to my hatchery faverolles she's the same age...there is a bit of a size difference. I got quite a few runts last year...and yep I wormed them too just in case.

Lol! :gig

About two years ago I got lavender orpingtons from a hatchery and one of my hens is a good size and the rest a super small. Love the pics! :)

She's gorgeous! And yeah I can tell she's a midget.
I call mine "surprise bantams". Still perfectly fine just itty bitty eggs.
This is my favorite hatchery verses hatched photo, the bigger bird is only a few months older and the midge has just starting laying in it.
So no worries, just little eggs.;)
What pretty birds!! That’s a relief! :) Here’s my Molly. Kinda hard to tell her size.
