I'm down to one duck. Attu will be 10 this year. She hangs with the chickens. She seems to be doing ok with just hanging with them, so I've not searched for a new companion for her yet. I'm contemplating setting up another pen and keeping a small male flock (3 birds maybe). It's been a while since I've hung out in the duck forum, but does anybody have a small male flock. Pros? Cons?

i have 3 drakes and 2 hens so they are kept separated, and my drakes do great with each other! boys also have less health issues than girls and are waaay quieter. i recommend adopting instead of buying ducklings if possible, totally your choice though. the only thing i would say is during mating season, make sure they have multiple pools. my boys don’t fight besides when they don’t wanna share a pool, so we have 3 pools. here’s a picture of my boys in their valentines bandanas last winter ❤️ A386A2A1-9F66-4083-9144-1334D460BF8F.jpeg

I have a small separate flock of 3 males, they were separated because they were to rough on the females. They get along generally well. Except during the breeding season, they try to hump one another 🙄 But yeah they are great together.
