I got 9 new day old chicks from TSC today! I was looking in the Banty Bin and there were probably a couple hundred assorted chicks in there. There was one tiny one that stood out from all the rest because she was so dang small! I couldn't resist getting her. The employee said she was a Cochin. (not sure how accurate that is)

Anyway I brought her home and took some pics- wanted to get some more opinions! Anyone have any thoughts?!?

I'm 100% positive that he or she is not a cochin. But she is a cute thing, and I would have done the same thing!! I always go for the tinies

I did a little looking around, and my suggestions might be Dutch or Old English Bantam. Look up those breeds here on the site (link is at the top of the page) and see if you can see the resemblance

I Believe you have a welsummer or ee. Definitely not a cochin. Cochins Always have hair on legs. But she is gorgeous! Congradulations on your new baby.

My Maple is that tiny and she is the same age. However, Maple has fully grown her wing feathers already.

I thought something was wrong at first because Maple was so small.
