One of our 3 year old Rhode Island /New Hampshire red hens went broody about 4 weeks ago, none of the eggs hatched (guess our rooster is a dud). The rest of her flock is chasing her and pulling out her feathers. Her underside is nasty, smelly and matted feathers. I have her free ranging in an enclosed area alone but she can see the other chickens . Any suggestions? I have to close her up tonight with another hen and I don't want another feather pulling episode.
