While picking up a few things at the store today I noticed a bag of frozen smelt, the really tiny ones that are just a few inches long. I like to supplement my chickens' diet with a bit of fish but canned sardines can get pretty expensive and I don't like to use too much aluminum canned stuff. One smelt would be the perfect size for my three bantams to split, but I'm so paranoid about bones. Has anyone fed smelt to their chickens? Did you give it raw or boiled?
