I just wanted to start a thread for those, like me, who just want to talk about how smitten they are with their new chickies. We got 17 Delaware chicks that are about 2 weeks old now (they will be split up between myself and 2 others once they can be sexed) I've never had chickens of any sort before and had no idea what an adventure I was getting myself into with this!
Every day they do things that have me scratching my head in puzzlement or staring with adoration. I never thought I'd feel this way about them. I may be driving my family just a bit nutty with my chick talk. So if you also need a place to express your joy and wonder about your chickies or just talk about their silliness and weirdness. Please comment here! I'd LOVE to hear you stories. As I write this I've got a rotating crew of chicks trying to dig their way out of the brooder...don't worry, they can't get through the floor but they sure are trying!
