My LB - good layer, good at eating her calcium - laid an egg with a bit of a rough texture the other day. The shell quality was good, though.
Today she laid very late for her (laid at 4; she usually wraps up her cycle with a 2p egg).
Today's egg is also a little rough, almost fine sandpaper texture in areas and has this imperfection - like the paint got smudged on the way through her system. And it's definitely rough in the smudged area. The spotted pores are also pretty unusual for her; usually it's a smooth, light brown egg. (Edited to add: I just cracked it - good shell, egg is fine inside.)
Potential factors - it's been very rainy last three days, now back to 80s/90s. And we've been treating for a very minor case of bumblefoot on both feet. Seems happy/healthy otherwise.
Anything to worry about? Or just a weirdo egg? Thanks!
