Each day my new quail get more relaxed and happier to try new things so each day I pick them new greens from the garden. Today it was romaine lettuce, two kinds of grass weeded from the garlic patch, a young garlic and some lemon thyme and some other herb who's name is eluding me.

It got me wondering if all these strong treats will change the taste of the eggs? And if I feed such a variety to my fatteners (who are still residing in their eggs) will it change the taste of the meat for better or worse?

I think there are a variety answers on the subject!

I know for chickens at least you aren't supposed to feed onion (I don't know about garlic though...) because it flavors the eggs. And I'm assuming the herbs would be good for the meat quail, it's like marinating from the inside! I would just check to make sure none are toxic... but that's obvious!
