So My chicks haven't went outside in the run yet, they only go out if I am watching them, and I haven't seen any snake in a long time. So I want to be on the safe side, what do you guys use to ward off snakes, spray, or some type of powder! I have extra protection with the run netting but, could always use more!

Funny you mention netting. I've cought many snakes in wads of bird netting in the poultry barn. Scraps, left over pieces etc. all get wadded up and placed where I can easily check them. Actually, I've cought 2 at a time twice!

Hey, I did that quite by accident. I had some bird netting that I had laid down near the fence and when I went to get it - couple of days later, I thought it was a stick in it and it was a huge blacksnake. It had gotten tangled up in it and died - hadn't been dead long tho. I took the netting and put it at the barn door and called my husband (who hates all snakes) and asked him to help me get the stick out of the netting......he bent over to pick it up and jumped backward about 3'........hehehehe - payback for the spider in the bathtub!!!!!! :thun

A while back, Blood Meal was recommended for keeping snakes away. We had some snakes nesting in an out building of ours and it was recommended that we spread bloodmeal around the building. Worth a try...
