Snake repellent? Help!

Just had my first run in with a snake. Fortunately it was nonvenomous this time around. Is there a snake repellent that works and is safe around chickens?

Spread diatomaceous earth in and around the coop it works

Hmm, I have plenty if food grade DE on hand, bought a 50lb bag last year. The snake got into the workshop with my brooder. Did subsantial damage to itself by getting tangled in the bird net I had tossed over the brooder yesterday morning (had a poult get out fir the first time). Spread DE around on the floor last night so I could see slither marks if another one got in. Hopefully it will work as a repellent too.

More bird netting will work, DE wont. I've dealt with enough snakes going after my birds to know. Moth balls dont work neither.

Salvaged the rest of the net it wasn't tangled in. It is over the brooder and DE on the floor. Was wondering about the products advertised as snake repellents.
