Snake thief

Anyone has any advice on how to prevent the thief from stealing my eggs? It’s a black whip snake.

Sorry for your troubles.
I had a problem with black rat snakes stealing eggs from our coop. Caught one in the act.

Our run was welded wire covered up the sides with 4 feet of hardware cloth.
They only stopped when we added more hardware cloth.

Yes. It may sound cruel, but I’ve had great success with putting a golf ball in each of my nest boxes and invariably the snake eats it. The snake can’t pass the ball and goes off somewhere to die. We eliminated 7 snakes from our coop in the past 3 months!

Make that 8 snakes now. We found an Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake in our coop this morning! It had eaten a golf ball and couldn’t move. The golf balls work great!

I haven’t caught the thief yet, but it seems like he stopped… maybe someone else caught him
