I don’t know why, however, this year we have A LOT of snakes around. We have had our chickens now for three years, got ducks in the fall.
Is there a reason why we have snakes this year? Chickens and ducks steer clear of them. They are large bull snakes and garden snakes. I know they are harmlessly, but, will they eat eggs?

I've never had snakes in my raised coops, but I've read many posts about snakes eating eggs.
I only see garter snakes on my property and I witnessed my Barred Rock hens attack one that crawled into their pen. That snake quickly backed out. GC
