I killed a 6' 6" rat snake that was in a nest box yesterday evening. I thought it was a JG hen and started to reach in to check for eggs when I realized what it was. I introduced him to my 12 ga. but they didn't get along.

8'shot was in the gun, it's my go to for for predators since I have neighbors in a half mile.

I got another snake last night. Not as big, but about 5 feet. It had swallowed 2 eggs. Fortunately no small chicks were in there. It was another rat snake.
