My husband came in lastnight and declared one of my runner ducks was missing. It was almost completely dark and I'd just gotten into my jammies after a shower but I grabbed a coat and flashlight to help search. I'd been outside with them all day so I knew nothing had come into the yard to nab her. I figured she must be under a bush somewhere trying to hatch eggs. With 2 acres of yard to search even iwth two of us I didn't have much hope of finding her fast. My hubby tried yelling, "Snack!" to see if she'd answer but her flock mates all started yelling they wanted snack so we had no hope of hearing her.
After a little while searching I decided to go back to their pen and she if she wasn't there trying to get in the now closed gates. Imagine my surprise when I counted six ducks happily floating in their pool. My husband swears she wasn't in their when he closed the gates. So we have renamed her Sneaky Ninja duck since she obviously can sneak back into a tight closed and topped duck pen without being seen.
