Latest update: she’s now standing and closing her eyes some and opening her mouth just a little like she’s trying harder to breathe.

I’ve noticed over the past week or 2 one hen (blue Orpington) has been making a different noise. I wasn’t sure if it was a cough, sneeze, or just a chicken noise. Today I went to check on her and she has a poopy butt. Getting ready to clean her up now! She still currently seems to be eating and drinking water and acting normal. I have 7 other hens and the rest are fine.
Not sure what my treatment plan should be?🤔
Any suggestions?? Thanks so much!

Can you get photos of what she looks like?

When was her last egg?

I'd check to make sure her crop is emptying, look her over for lice/mites.

If she's not laid an egg and should have, then I'd give her Calcium Citrate with D3 once daily for a week. She may be having a hard time expelling an egg.

Her last egg was Wednesday at 3:00pm and then I found her with the poopy butt and open mouth breathing Thursday morning. No egg yesterday.
This morning her vent is looking worse. I’m about to go clean her up and I’ll feel for an egg just in case. She’s still opening her mouth every few seconds and still sneezing probably every few minutes. Her crop feels normal!

Update: unfortunately she passed away 😢
I soaked her and gave her some vitamins and she started perking up some. Then she laid an egg - it looked normal but was a different shade of brown than she normally lays. After she laid the egg she laid down and started closing her eyes and breathing heavy again. She didn’t look good at all. I thought another soak would help her but in the middle of soaking she started panicking and flailing around. I pulled her out of the water but she continued to flail around and died. Im thinking she had a heart attack. I’m so sad - she was so sweet but I’m glad to at least know she isnt suffering now. She will be so missed!🧡

I'm sorry about your hen:hugs

In the photo is looked like she was prolapsing. She may have had a couple of eggs back to back and was just exhausted, it can be very hard on them.
