I have a bantam hen and ever since we got her (when she was on the point of lay) she always sneezes every so often and I don’t know what it is. She is still a happy girl and socialises well with the rest of the flock. She also lays fine and has recently gone broody but we have had her a few months and still sneezes quite often. Before we got her she lived in a barn which I think would have lots of dust which is the only reason I think she could be sneezing.

Sneezing can be environmental from dust in bedding or in the feed, or something else that irritates her nostrils. But sneezing every few minutes with nasal drainage can be a sign of a respiratory disease, such as infectious bronchitis or IB. If the eyes have small bubbles or foam, then MG might be a problem.

Thanks she doesn’t have any nasal drainage or bubbles round her eyes so it will probably just be environmental.

Make sure they have very good overhead ventilation from one end of the coop to the other. Make extra windows if necessary and cover with hardware cloth.
