only the shadow knows.....
(Newbie be gentle!!)

I've got 8 6wk old Barred Rock chicks. They have been doing great. Growing big, all about feathered out then WHAM!

Last weekend one of them starts sneezing, then another one, then a third. I bought some Purina medicated chick crumbles on Monday and it hasn't gotten any better, I think now they all are sneezing at one point or another. I clean their box, every other day. Clean water and feed 2 x's a day (these little beggers can eat!!) This morning when I went to feed them, one of them was dead

I don't know whatelse to do. I did a whole bunch of reading on the care of chicks (mostly from this site) before I got them. Trying to be real responsible and all. Anyone got any ideas on what is going wrong?

Coyote

(yeah, yeah, I hear the comments now, "Coyote in the hen house!!")

I'm sorry I don't have any advice on this, just wanted to say I'm sorry you lost one- hopefully someone will be along soon that can help you out. I've read many times that apple cider vinegar in the water is helpful, as is yogurt with active cultures. That and keeping them warm is about all I can suggest.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your others to get well

On edit: I googled 'sneezing chickens' (I know, LOL) - but I came up with this "Avian Disease Fact Sheet"- it has a symptoms chart. Maybe it will help?

its really sad to hear that...

i'm not really sure about the sneezing and yeah like the posts above its probably just something in the air thats irritating their sinus ( though i have to admit i've heard my chooks sneeze before and it was soo funny/cute! ^^!!)

Wish you all the best!
