Hello AGAIN! One or two of my now-3 1/2-week-old chicks has been sneezing quite a bit. The bedding doesn’t seem dusty to me. Their food is a little dusty, but I don’t see how that could be a problem? If you are in front of them when they sneeze, it feels like getting misted a tiny bit. Are they sick? Or are they just being chicks?

How are they being kept? Chicks do put off a lot of dander, so good ventilation is required. Are you seeing any discharge from nostrils or hearing any wheezing?

Chicks do occasionally sneeze, but it shouldn't be excessive.

I think there is plenty of ventilation. The whole top of their brooder is hardware cloth. I don’t see any discharge, but if you are right in front of them when they sneeze, it’s like getting misted with a nearly empty spray bottle. They’re not constantly sneezing, but they’ll maybe do it two or three times in a half hour?

Is the brooder where there's a good exchange of fresh air?

Have you taken them away from the brooder to see if it stops? Do they go outside?
