Hi.
I hate to post this question because I think I already know what the answer will be. I have a hen who recently started sneezing. She has no other symptoms, and she is the only one who appears to be sick.

There have been NO additions to the flock, and these girls are only about 6 months old.

So here's the question I don't want to ask... do I need to cull her?

Thanks for your help...

I would at the least isolate her. It depends on what your flock policy is going to be. Some treat, some cull all respiratory illness. The problem is that one sneezing chicken probably means everybody had been exposed to whatever she has. But definitely isolate and see if it turns into a full blown case of something. Then you may want to have her tested.

In my experience, sneezing is usually nothing. I would, however, isolate her and see if it gets worse or better. If it goes away and you have no more chickens develope a sneeze, it was just a little chicky cold or something. If she gets worse, someone on BYC can help, but you'll need to start watching your others closer as well.
