.. going to try and find an old english bantam and convince her it's a pheasant that just happen to wander'd in ..

.. here's the hitch---will a bantam roo mate with a standard size chicken ?

Well, let's see: If he can convince his wife that a bantam is a pheasant, he can likely convince her that a pheasant can crow. Of course, when she discovers the truth, and she will, then that's another story.

Believe me they try hard,I have a bantam frizzle who tries to mate with the big buff orpintons,very funny to watch.Here is a picture of him dancing around the girls,he gets them while they are down and dust bathing.

As much as I like the idea of having a rooster, I think back to my three (yes, count them, 3) divorces and recall that the worst sin is lying or attempting to make me a fool. More than anything else. Even over little issues.

So, just get the rooster and deal with the consequences.

Can you entice her with colored eggs? It's my understanding that an olive egger roo can throw brown genes, blue genes or olive genes....so the offspring will give your DW colored eggs to show off to her friends. And if that doesn't work how about FREE CHICKENS? Tell her having a roo will save you money!!
