Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't have any snow! But bright sunny days!

As far as I am concerned, if it is this cold it may as well be snowing.

That's what I am talking about, Michelle!

I know what you mean, if I am going to be cold, I wanna see snow! I was like a kid on Christmas Eve last night getting up and looking out the windows waiting for it to start! However, up at 4:40 to ride with hubby so he could start pushing it and to answer phones at the station, it is going to be a LONG day!

I like snow.
When its cold enough not to melt, everything seems to be brighter, cleaner, crisper.
The dogs fur is cleaned and freshened by playing in it.
They, the dogs, don't drag in mud and debris on their feet.
Snow makes the house feel snug and the wood stove keeps us warmer than the gas furnace ever could.
The quiet muffled hush is so peaceful.
It means...rest.... no planting. weeding, picking or canning and freezing. No bugs biting, no sweat running into your eyes.

Maybe I should be an Eskimo.

It is -8 right now.

I won't let the ducks out until it gets to at least 0

My geese & ducks are outside all of the time. The all have shelters but very rarely use them...except for the Muscovies. They use theirs a lot more often than the geese. I feed them lots and give them fresh straw often...and hope for the best...but it's hard for me to sleep at night knowing they are cold.

So far, they don't seem to notice...I modified their waterers to keep their feet dry (I've previously lost muscovies due to frostbitten OFF feet)...so far, so good...it's supposed to "warm up" to 18 degrees in the next few days...

We hear in WI. are under a winter storm warning up to a foot of snow until Thurs. I love the snow my favorite passtime is snowshoeing in the northwoods.
