Snowbird who divides time between Arizona and Montana. In the mid 1970s I went to a farm that had chickens that laid green eggs and I was hooked. Being a city girl I couldn't have chickens. Two years ago I moved to 26 acres and got my first 6 Easter Egger hens. Love to sit in the yard in the morning watching chicken TV. Getting a variety of breeds of chicks this spring, and am so excited.

No, the girls stay in Montana. The next door neighbors combine my girls with theirs when we head south. When the girls were little I'd say "here, chicky, chicky" every time I fed them or gave them treats. They still remember. Last year when we got back to Montana I cleaned their coop and pen. Stood in the yard and yelled "here, chicky, chicky" and my girls came running home.

I'm glad you joined our community.

Good luck with your future chicks! What breeds do you plan on getting?

Thank you all for your warm welcome.

I just found out the chicks arrived in Montana this morning. The girls are silver laced wyandottes, white leghorn, buff orpington, black giants, speckled sussex, barred rock, Rhode Island red, and Easter eggers. I also ordered 2 salmon faverolles roosters. I'll keep one of each. Gary's sister who is chick sitting in Montana will get the rest to add to her flock.
