So, Cayugas…

[Stoney Meadow Maple]

I bought a pair of Cayuga ducks from a poultry farm here in VT, they are supposed to be 10 weeks, but look a little younger to me, but I’ve been out of the duckling game a while now. One has definite quacks, the other I was worried, but I think we got a couple from it.. so fingers crossed.
I was looking for some KC’s or Runners, but these are rather unique, so they will fit the bill. I need to set up their quarantine quarters tomorrow, after that they will get an introduction to the rest of the flock. I still have room in the stable for some KC’s so I am on the lookout.
As I said, I’ve been out of the duckling game a while, so I will likely have a few Questions as I go.

That’s what I was thinking. But I had gone way out of my way, and I was there, so.. home they came. I really wanted bigger birds

Oh man are they messy, I got back late and didn’t trouble myself with a brooder, so they got set up in my front hall, which is tile. Brooder is top priority today.

Your going to love the Cayugas. The one I got in Jan. Is so laid back I just love her.
Mine is 4 yrs old so already getting speckled with white.

I was thinking around then too, when you have already promised a 2 year old some ducklings, it hinders your walk away abilities
