So my very first broody is sitting on her eggs for the very first time. I candled after a week and saw some that were definately developing, and a bunch I was unsure of. One was developing but had a crack so I tossed it and another was a maybe but I accidently cracked it (I felt SOOOO BAD). That left 11 in the nest. Today, another week later I candled again and all 11 are developing and doing great! I am so so excited! I have promised myself I will not candle again before hatch. Any advice about the actual hatch? Will mama stay on top of them while they are pipping and zipping? Should I check to make sure no one gets crushed? What sort of husbandry skills will I need to apply for this?
