Hey everyone! My name is Carrie I have had chickens for almost 3 years. I had a healthy flock of 20 chickens which were mostly Barred Rocks and Light Brahmas with a few silkies. Tragically last Christmas my neighbors dogs tore through the fence of my enclosed run and killed them all! I was devastated. They were my babies. Even my husband who said he would never get attached was crushed. We started over this spring after reinforcing the run. I now have flock of 21 Light Brahmas, Dark Brahmas, Ameraucana, and a few Bantams and Silkies.
My chickens are my stress reliever at the end of a long day at work..I love to watch them out in the yard and feed them treats. And my family loves them.
When not spending time with the chickens I like to sew or work on genealogy.
We also have two dogs and a cat. Both my dogs love the chickens and are very protective of them when they are all out together.
I look forward to all the great things I can learn in this community!

How horrible for you. I'm glad you are getting back into keeping chickens. They are one of my biggest sources of joy in a very hectic life.
