Good morning - I've been lurking around for a month or so and have found TONS of valuable info - Thank you!
We (ok, mostly me) have wanted to add chickens to our family for years. I visited the Biltmore Estate early this summer and absolutely fell in love with the Silkies they keep in their petting zoo. Had a hard time deciding whether to get adults, chicks or incubate eggs - decisions, decisions! Finally decided on incubating our own - ordered up an incubator from EBAY and a batch of eggs from Kelar on the auctions here and they go in the incubator in the morning. Eggs arrived in perfect condition - she must have spent hours wrapping and packaging them! Unfortunately the post office didn't call for pick up and - worse - left the package on my porch for hours - with temps in the high 90's I'm not too optimistic but will give it a go.
So glad to know there is somewhere to come to with questions if I run into snags! Thanks!
