I’m expecting my first flock in April. We will begin construction on our coop in a couple of weeks. I’m pretty sure I will start out with about six chicks, and then see how it goes from there. I’m excited to get to learn from all you experienced chicken farmers!

Hi! Welcome! I think maybe you should build a coop for 12 chickens. Chicken math is real! It's great that you are planning ahead and building the coop first, and coming here where you can learn about everything chicken! Check out the Articles. You can find a lot of coop ideas there and a learning center for everything from raising them, feeding them and handling any unusual thing that comes up.
