So I want to mate my chickens how and where to start?!

I have a polish rooster hatched march 10th and a polish hen who's probably a little over a year id like to mate the two together as they are my only polish chickens would it be to much stress for her to be separated with him in a smaller coop together? Also how should I keep the eggs I collect from her to incubate? How long do I wait for them to be together, like 30 days? Thank you for your suggestions and answers!!

Has she been exposed to other roosters? Is your polish boy starting to mount the hens? If you have a smaller area to separate them into, I would probably put him in with the polish (is she the frizzled chicken in your pics?) and 3 other hens, so that she doesn’t get super overbred.

If she has been exposed to other boys, it can take 2-3 weeks to clear their system. During that time, you could even just keep her separated without the polish roo. And then introduce him in with her and then her eggs should be fertilized within a couple of days. If you need to be 100% certain then you may need to wait a little longer.
