I shad to get our 5 week old guineas and lavender orpingtons out of the brooder box (in the house!) and into the yard, but my attempt at a coop was a joke to the weasel/raccoon/fox that went right under last night. We have had a series of unfortunate evens with our 30+ bird flock and we are now pretty much starting from scratch. My last 3 hatches have went terribly wrong (I went from a 90% hatch rate in the spring to a 10-25% hatch rate recently). I am just so mad at myself, disappointed, and cannot even think about the money that we have lost in birds and hatching eggs.
