So MANY chickens

[My backyard chickens]

Hi,
I have been looking at getting some chickens for a long time, the only setback I can imagine is that I do not live on a homestead and I have neighbors near by. I was wondering if anyone could give me some good information on quiet chickens and good egg layers. Thanks!

I almost never hear a peep from any of my dozen+ bantams unless a hawk visits or the neighborhood cat comes creeping about. Though they aren’t the world’s best layers typically, it really depends on your need for eggs.
